  • 20.8 - SEVERE FLOODING...100 CELLARS AND 83 FIRST FLOORS OF HOMES FLOODED. FLOOD OF RECORD MARCH 22 1948.
  • 18.0 - ROUTE 7 IS IN CORBETTSVILLE UNDER WATER.
  • 17.3 - SEVERAL INCHES OF WATER SPREADS ONTO THE FIRST FLOOR OF THE BINGHAMTON RIFLE CLUB ON CONKLIN ROAD. IN THE TOWNS OF KIRKWOOD AND CONKLIN THERE IS FLOODING OF MANY HOMES NEAR THE RIVER.
  • 16.0 - TERRACE ROAD AND HARDIE ROAD OFF OF POWERS ROAD FLOODS.
  • 14.3 - FLOOD WATERS SPREAD INTO THE YARDS OF SEVERAL HOMES ALONG THE SUSQUEHANNA RIVER IN THE TOWN OF CONKLIN. FLOOD WATERS REACH THE FIRST FLOOR OF SOME HOMES ON STILLWATER ROAD IN CORBETTSVILLE.
  • 12.0 - FLOODING BEGINS ON ALTA...RIVER AND LAWRENCE ROADS IN THE TOWN OF CONKLIN
  • 11.0 - FLOOD STAGE. SOME YARDS ON RIVERSIDES IN CONKLIN BEGIN TO FLOOD.

The term Minor Flooding is used to indicate minimal or no property damage. However, some public inconvenience is possible.

The term Moderate Flooding is used to indicate the inundation of secondary roads. Transfer to higher elevation may be necessary to save property. Some evacuation may be required.

The term Major Flooding is used to indicate extensive inundation and property damage, usually characterized by the evacuation of people and livestock, and the closure of both primary and secondary roads.
