The National Weather Service conducted a storm survey in Oneida County of the storm that affected the Camden area during the evening of May 17^th,2008.

An EF0 tornado with maximum wind speeds estimated to be near 75 mph struck approximately 1.7 miles northwest of the village of Camden at 650 PM EDT Saturday evening. An eyewitness confirmed seeing the tornado touch down, while several other eyewitnesses viewed a funnel cloud as it approached State Route 13.

The tornado touched down near the west branch of Fish Creek and knocked down several large limbs over one foot in diameter before striking the adjacent property. A snowmobile trailer was blown approximately 20-25 feet, while other trailers were moved several feet. As the tornado continued through the property, a barn was collapsed by the winds. The structure was in the process of being re-modeled. Some siding was ripped off the house, and debris from the house and yard was found a half-mile southeast of the property. The tornado moved through the neighboring property causing minimal damage to trees and a wooden playhouse, before crossing State Route 13 and lifting.

The pattern of damage was suggestive of convergence along an axis, as debris was blown inward toward the center of the property. The width of the tornado is estimated to be at 250 yards with a path length of one-half mile.
