  • The cap was generated by subsidence associated with the right exit region of a mid-level jet, and dry-air advection.

  • The 12z Eta model appeared to be underdone with the warmth of the cap.

  • The transition from moist unstable low-levels to dry mid-levels was very sudden; the layer of potential instability was shallow.
