• Thunderstorms developed quickly during the late afternoon over central New York and northeast Pennsylvania as an approaching mid-level shortwave and cold front broke a mid-level cap.

  • One storm was associated with a small bow echo over Oneida county, which produced localized, intense damage.

  • Another storm over Broome county split, then merged with a second cell and developed intense low-level rotation and a hook echo. That storm produced an F1 tornado over southeast Broome and western Delaware counties.
