NAM 500 mb heights, mean sea-level pressure and 500-300 mb Q vector divergence valid 10/25 12z
Light precipitation, mainly rain with some snow mixed in at higher elevations, fell through the early morning hours on the 25th. The heaviest precipitation across our area was to occur during the daylight hours on the 25th. The event occurred as a deep, closed mid-level low center moved across the central Appalachian mountains, while surface low pressure developed off the east coast. An area of forcing for large-scale upward motion is indicated by the purple-shaded Q vector convergence over Pennsylvania at 12z on the 25th.
