The National Weather Service issues a Wind Chill Warning based on the following criteria:
Wind chills of -25 or colder

The National Weather Service issues a Wind Chill Advisory based on the following criteria:
Wind chills of -15 or colder

Bitter cold wind chills between zero and -25 can also cause frostbite and/or hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Restrictions on outdoor activities to limit exposure should be considered.

The National Weather Service issues Excessive Heat Warnings when the daytime heat index is expected to exceed 105 for more than 3 hours for two consecutive days, or if the heat index exceeds 115 for any length of time.

The National Weather Service issues Heat Advisories when the daytime heat index is expected to exceed 105 for less than 3 hours, amd nighttime low temperatures are expected to remain above 80 degrees for two consecutive days.
