LowLOW (Slight Chance/Isolated). Thunderstorms are expected to be isolated in coverage. Atmosphereic conditions support occasional cloud to ground lightning strikes.
MediumMODERATE (Chance/Scattered). Thunderstorms are expected to be scattered in coverage. Atmosphereic conditions support frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes.
HighHIGH (Likely/Numerous). Thunderstorms are expected to be numerous in coverage. Atmosphereic conditions support excessive cloud to ground lightning strikes.
ExtremeEXTREME (Definite/Widespread/Occasional).




The Local Weather Threats graphics are generally VALID FOR A 24 HOUR PERIOD from the time of issuance. The graphics will be issued daily between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m., and remain valid until 8 a.m. the next day. Afternoon updates will be posted as time permits. As the weather threat increases throughout the day, or becomes imminent, Watches and Warnings will be issued as appropriate. The highest possible threat for the day will be highlighted for each county. On some maps multiple threats may be represented.
