Description: The National Weather Service in Binghamton, NY is looking for engaging students who would like experience working in a local weather service office. With this internship you will gain valuable knowledge in the day-to-day operations of the office, an opportunity to conduct research, and learn whether or not this is a career path you may be interested in.
Length of internship: Starting late May/early June and lasting until early August. This is an unpaid internship.
Eligibility: Full time students who will be completing at least their sophomore year this spring in meteorology, atmospheric science, or hydrology.
What we need: A cover letter stating your interest in the internship and why we should select you. Let us know what makes you different from the rest of our applicants. In addition please include a resume that includes your relevant coursework, related experience, and awards you have received. If you have letters of recommendation please also include those.
Deadline: April 22nd
How you will be chosen: Applicants will be selected based on a combination of coursework, professional and academic references, resume and cover letter, and a phone interview.
