Contact NWS Burlington Special Event Station W1V on SKYWARN™ Recognition Day!

NWS Burlington's Amateur Radio station will participate in the 2010 National SKYWARN™ Recognition Day, observed on Saturday, Dec. 4th, from 00z to 24z (or 7pm EST Friday Dec. 3rd to 7pm EST Saturday Dec. 4th). The NWS Burlington amateur radio station has obtained the call sign W1V for this special event.

Local frequencies will be:
  • 145.110 MHz Whiteface repeater, for the scheduled nets
  • 440 network via 444.650 MHz Monkton
  • 146.940 MHz Mt. Mansfield
  • 145.230 MHz St. Albans
  • 147.135 MHz Gore Mtn , NY
HF operations will be on 80, 40, 20, 15, 10 bands as well as via Winlink Pactor WX1BTV@winlink.org.

Although we have been challenged over the past few years with local interference, the recent installation of a new dipole antenna HF communication has improved reception greatly and we anticipate a successful event!
