2007 Skywarn™ Recognition Day

WX1BTV operated during the 2007 Skywarn™ Recognition Day held on December 1. Friday evening we were on the air from 00z to 04z, with the help of Ron N1LDT, and Ed W1OKH. It was quiet during this time period, with 5 contacts on the usual northern New York net on 145.110 MHz, and 3 contacts on 80 meters. Two of those three contacts were with NWS offices: WFOs Indiannapolis at 02:59 UTC, and WFO Melbourne FL at 0320 UTC.

Conditions were much better the next morning. We were on air from 1100 UTC to 1800 UTC, and made the majority of our contacts. Ron N1LDT was back in at 8 am, along with Arnie W2HDI, and Ron K1SVT. We made contacts again on the morning northern New York weather net on 145.110, and the rest were on 20 meters. Weather offices contacted during this period were WFOs Birmingham AL, Springfield MO, Lincoln IL, Melbourne FL (again), and Paducah KY.

WX1BTV made a total of 72 contacts in 19 states including the 6 National Weather Service Offices.
