Lake Effect Storm Archimedes
Montague (KTYX) radar imagery, October 31, 1:30-5:30PM

This radar loop is in "clear air" mode, which has a much more sensitive scale than
"precipitation" mode.  This scale allows us to see snow which generally produces
a weaker return signal to the radar compared to raindrops.  In more intense lake
effect storms, you will see that the radar will operate in "precipitation" mode.
