Great Lakes Ice Cover Mar 17th, 2003
| This image was taken at 1:15PM on March 17th. Lake Erie is fully ice-covered here. Under full afternoon sun in March it is not uncommon to develop cumulus clouds over the land as it warms. You can see a good example of this process in the clouds that have developed southeast of Lake Erie. |
