Eastern Great Lakes Ice Cover Mar 28th, 2004

It won't be long now.  A couple of warm days and the ice cover at the east end of Lake Erie will reduce rapidly.  This image has a lot to offer.  Starting from the left are a shield of clouds over Michigan, low stratus clouds and fog over western Lake Erie, ice cover at the east end of Lake Erie, clouds from Hamilton to north of Toronto Ontario, some leftover ice on Georgian Bay, a bit of low stratus clouds and fog on Irondequoit Bay near Rochester, ice on Lake Oneida in central New York, snow cover on the Tug Hill and Adirondacks and finally a bit of ice near the entrance to the St. Lawrence River.
