1206 PM EST SAT NOV 15 2008

...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CONFIRMS TORNADO NEAR LONE STAR IN
CALHOUN COUNTY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CONDUCTED A STORM DAMAGE SURVEY NEAR
LONE STAR IN SOUTHEAST CALHOUN COUNTY. RESULTS DETERMINED AN EF-1
(86-110 MPH)TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE SOUTH-
SOUTHWEST OF LONE STAR AT 1050 PM EST ON FRIDAY NOVEMBER 14. THE
TORNADO MOVED NORTHEAST ACROSS MCCORDS FERRY ROAD AND DISSIPATED
APPROXIMATELY 1.5 MILES NORTHEAST OF LONE STAR. THE TOTAL PATH
LENGTH WAS 2.4 MILES. ESTIMATED DAMAGE IS UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME. NO
INJURIES HAVE BEEN REPORTED.

THE MOST SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE OCCURRED ALONG MCCORDS FERRY ROAD
JUST SOUTH OF TINAH ROAD. AT THAT LOCATION SEVERAL HOMES LOST
PORTIONS OF THEIR ROOFS AND NUMEROUS TREES AND POWER POLES WERE
DOWN. AS THE TORNADO MOVED NORTHEAST OVER BROOMSTRAW
ROAD...SEVERAL SHEDS AND OUTBUILDINGS LOST ROOFS OR WERE
DESTROYED. THE TORNADO DOWNED TREES AS IT CONTINUED NORTHEAST PAST
SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAY 129 WERE IT DISSIPATED.
