AN EF1 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN JUST INSIDE THE MCCORMICK  
COUNTY LINE IN THE SUMTER NATIONAL FOREST AND TOOK DOWN  
SOME TREES AND MOVED EAST NORTHEAST INSIDE EDGEFIELD  
COUNTY NEAR GARRETT ROAD AND TOOK DOWN SOME TREES IN THAT  
AREA AS WELL. A MOTORIST STOPPED AT THE WAFFLE HOUSE ON  
I-20 SNAPPED A PICTURE OF THE TORNADO AS HE LOOKED NORTH  
NORTHWEST INTO MCCORMICK AND EDGEFIELD COUNTIES. 1024 PM TORNADO 8 NNE MARTINEZ 33.63N 82.04W

AN EF2 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN ON HWY 230 AND STEVENS CREEK  
TAKING DOWN NUMEROUS TREES AND POWERLINES. TWO HOMES WERE  
DAMAGED AS WAS A MOBILE HOME. A TREE FELL ONTO A MOTOR  
HOME AND SEVERELY DAMAGED IT AS WELL. THE TORNADO WAS ON  
THE GROUND FOR ABOUT 6 MINUTES BEFORE DISSIPATING AND  
REFORMING OVER BATESBURG-LEESVILLE SC. 1045 PM TSTM WND DMG 11 SSW EDGEFIELD 33.64N 82.00W

THE SUPERCELL THAT PRODUCED THE TORNADOES IN EDGEFIELD  
AND LEXINGTON COUNTIES PRODUCED ANOTHER SMALL EF0 TORNADO  
IN SOUTHWEST FAIRFIELD COUNTY BETWEEN LANDIS AND JACKSON  
CREEK ROADS TAKING DOWN SEVERAL TREES.
