Snowfall Totals from the October 30th Winter Storm

The first significant winter storm of the season impacted much of New England over the weekend of Oct 29th and 30th. While portions of southern New England were hardest hit, portions of northern and eastern Maine also received significant snowfall. A band of moderate snow with pockets of heavy snow occurred from roughly Greenville and Bangor east-northeast across Springfield toward Houlton and Orient. Locations in this area received generally 4 to 6 inches with pockets of greater than 8 inches of heavy, wet snow. Snow amounts were 3 inches or less outside of the highlighted area.

The heavy, wet snow combined with gusty winds greater than 25 mph to bring down numerous trees and powerlines causing poweroutages across the area.
