Our Boss is Moving Up!
By: Sonia Mark Flechtner
Larry Gabric, our Meteorologist in Charge (MIC) will be
leaving us in June for a promotion as the MIC of WFO Greenville-Spartanburg, SC.
Larry has been with us for 6 years and will be greatly missed at our office.
Larry’s career with NOAA’s National Weather has brought him
all over the Midwest and Northeast. Before Larry became
our boss, he started his career as a Meteorologist Intern in Jackson,
KY. He was promoted to a General Forecaster
in Ann Arbor, MI
and later moved to the Raleigh, NC
office. He soon earned a spot as a Lead Forecaster in Cleveland,
OH. While in Cleveland
he became a member of management, working as the Warning Coordination
Meteorologist. Larry is a native of Green, OH and holds two Bachelor of Science
degrees, one in math from Florida State
University and the other in Meteorology
from Penn State.
All of us here at WFO Caribou wish Larry and his family (and
the alpacas!) well as they begin their new life in South
Carolina.
