Severe Weather Awareness Week
March 3-9, 2013


Sunday, March 3 through Saturday, March 9 marks the 2013 South Carolina Severe Weather Awareness Week and National Severe Weather Preparedness Week. The goals of this week are to inform the public about different hazards associated with severe weather, as well as to provide tips that individuals and communities can use to prepare for severe weather events. Recognizing the dangers and preparing for disaster can save lives anywhere: at home, in schools, and in the workplace.

On Tuesday, March 5 at 9 AM, South Carolina will conduct a statewide tornado drill. This will be a great time to practice your emergency safety plan. Don't forget to change your NOAA Weather Radio batteries prior to the test!
