Snowfall during the 2000-2001 season was above normal especially in the snowbelt east of Cleveland where some all time record snowfalls occurred. Snow totals in northeast Ohio ranged from about 50 inches at the lakeshore to over 150 inches in northern Geauga County near Chardon. Totals in northwest Pennsylvania ranged from over 100 inches at the Erie County lakeshore to about 250 inches well inland in the heart of the snowbelt. 149.1 inches fell at the airport in the city of Erie which was an all time seasonal record.
