Welcome back Winter
Despite a balmy start to the month, winter weather will return to the region over next few days.

A pair of low pressure systems - one over the Great Lakes and the other forecast to develop off the coast of North Carolina - will spread light snow across much the region starting late this evening. Precipitation may start out as plain rain or a mixture of rain and snow across the South Central Mountains and Lower Susquehanna Valley before eventually changing over to snow. A general 1-3 inch accumulation is expected north of the PA Turnpike through early Monday morning with lesser amounts closer to the Mason-Dixon line.

Although not likely, a more westward coastal low track may result in some higher snowfall totals across eastern PA. However at this time, the heaviest snow is forecast to fall from the Poconos northeast along or just west of the I-95 corridor. The coastal low pressure system will move northeast and away from the region on Monday.

Snow showers will continue across the region into early next week. Additional light accumulations will be possible, especially across the Northwest Mountains and Laurel Highlands.

Welcome back winter.
