| Arctic Air on the Way This Weekend |
The coldest air of the season is arriving in Pennsylvania on schedule this weekend, as strong northwest flow steers an arctic air mass into the region. The strong arctic front will push to the east of the state tonight. Wind chills Sunday morning (and perhaps again on Monday morning) will dip below zero, and to less than 10 below zero over the Allegheny and Laurel Highlands. Lake Effect snows will fall downwind of Lake Erie, and make deep, but fluffy snow over the snow belt in far Northwestern PA. |
| Cold Front crossing PA Saturday, with lake effect snows in the westerly flow behind the front. Note the very low dewpoints and cold temperatures over the upper Great lakes and Midwest. |
| Sunday's highs will struggle to reach the mid teens in the north and the mid 20s in the south. Northwest winds of 10 to 20 mph will make it feel like the single digits during the daytime, and below zero overnights. Brrrrr.... |
