Slight Risk of Severe Thunderstorms Friday
A STRONG SURFACE AND UPPER LEVEL CYCLONE WILL PROGRESS EASTWARD ACROSS THE CENTRAL PLAINS STATES AND INTO LOWER MICHIGAN ON FRIDAY. AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM...A COLD FRONT WILL SLIDE EASTWARD ACROSS THE OHIO AND TENNESSEE VALLEYS WHILE A WARM FRONT WILL SLOWLY MOVE NORTHWARD ACROSS WEST CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA BY FRIDAY
EVENING.

VERY STRONG WINDS ALOFT COMBINED WITH AN INCREASINGLY UNSTABLE AND MOISTENING LOW LEVEL AIRMASS SUGGESTS THE POTENTIAL FOR STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ON FRIDAY...PRIMARILY ACROSS WEST CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA. THE SEVERE THREAT IS CONDITIONAL TO SOME DEGREE AND
WILL HINGE ON THE AMOUNT OF INSTABILITY OR HEATING DURING THE DAY. IF SUFFICIENT HEATING CAN OCCUR RESULTING IN DESTABILIZATION...A HEIGHTENED RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER WILL EXIST.

THE MAIN SEVERE WEATHER THREATS WOULD BE DAMAGING WINDS AND HAIL. HOWEVER...A FEW BRIEF TORNADOES ARE ALSO POSSIBLE ESPECIALLY IN VICINITY OF THE WARM FRONT.

ADDITIONAL STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE FRIDAY NIGHT AS THE AFOREMENTIONED COLD FRONT MOVES ACROSS THE STATE.
