THE FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT...NORTHEAST
NEW JERSEY AND SOUTHEAST NEW YORK HAS BEEN CANCELLED. THE HEAVY
RAIN HAS ENDED ACROSS THE REGION...AND ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IS
EXPECTED TO BE LIGHT TO MODERATE AND BANDED.

THE FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT AND SOUTHEAST NEW YORK... 
  INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT... 
  NORTHERN FAIRFIELD...NORTHERN NEW HAVEN AND SOUTHERN 
  FAIRFIELD. IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK...NORTHERN WESTCHESTER... 
  PUTNAM...ROCKLAND AND SOUTHERN WESTCHESTER. 

* UNTIL 1 AM EST WEDNESDAY

* A MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN BAND WILL CONTINUE TO LIFT NORTH OF THE
  REGION THROUGH THIS EVENING...WHILE GRADUALLY WEAKENING. 

* 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS THE REGION TODAY...WITH
  AN ADDITIONAL 1/2 TO 1 INCH POSSIBLE BY THE TIME THE EVENT ENDS
  THIS EVENING. THE MAIN IMPACT WILL BE URBAN AND POOR DRAINAGE
  FLOODING...BUT SOME SMALL RIVERS AND STREAMS MAY REACH OR EXCEED
  BANKFULL. THIS SAME REGION RECEIVED 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAINFALL
  JUST A FEW DAYS AGO.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS. YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE
ALERT FOR POSSIBLE FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO
FLOODING SHOULD BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING
DEVELOP.
