...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY AND HIGH SURF ADVISORY CONTINUE FOR THE
NORTHERN OUTER BANKS THROUGH THIS MORNING...

.THE STRONG NORTHERLY PRESSURE GRADIENT CONTINUES TO PRODUCE WINDS
AROUND 20 TO 25 KNOTS ACROSS THE COASTAL WATERS TODAY. WINDS WILL
SLOWLY SHIFT MORE NORTHWESTERLY THIS MORNING BUT STRONG EAST-
NORTHEAST WAVE ENERGY WILL PERSIST THROUGH THIS MORNINGS HIGH TIDE
CYCLE WITH OCEAN OVERWASH AND BEACH EROSION POSSIBLE IN TYPICALLY
VULNERABLE AREAS.

* LOCATION...NORTH OF CAPE HATTERAS.

* SURF HEIGHT...10 TO 15 FEET.

* TIMING...COASTAL FLOODING IS LIKELY THIS MORNING WITH THE
  GREATEST THREAT AROUND THE TIMES OF HIGH TIDE...AROUND 9 AM.
  HIGH SURF CONDITIONS WILL ALSO LINGER THROUGH MUCH OF TODAY.

* IMPACTS...OCEAN OVERWASH AND MINOR BEACH EROSION NORTH OF CAPE 
  HATTERAS.

* COASTAL FLOODING...WATER LEVELS 2 TO 3 FEET ABOVE NORMAL NORTH 
  OF CAPE HATTERAS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT BEACHES IN
THE ADVISORY AREA...PRODUCING STRONG SHORE BREAK...DANGEROUS RIP
CURRENTS AND LOCALIZED BEACH EROSION.

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY INDICATES THAT ONSHORE WINDS AND TIDES
WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE FLOODING OF LOW AREAS ALONG THE SHORE.
