A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL APPROACH FROM THE PLAINS STATES TODAY
WITH BANDS OF RAIN AND EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS SPREADING ACROSS THE
MID ATLANTIC REGION. THE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING
LOCALLY HEAVY DOWNPOURS. THE RAIN IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE...OFF AND
ON...AT LEAST THROUGH TUESDAY.

RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE REGION BY
TUESDAY EVENING. THOSE SPOTS RECEIVING 3 OR MORE INCHES OF RAIN MAY
EXPERIENCE SOME FLOODING OF POOR DRAINAGE AREAS...AND THE POTENTIAL
EXISTS FOR SOME SMALL STREAMS TO ALSO COME OUT OF THEIR BANKS
ESPECIALLY WEST OF INTERSTATE 95.
