James River Boundary Initiating Convection (8/8/00)

These 2 images show the boundaries becoming visible within the CU field.

These 3 images show the thunderstorms developing at the intersection of the boundaries around Chesapeake and Virginia Beach.  Notice the navigation errors in the satellite image.  The land doesn't line up with the map.

Here are the corresponding radar images showing the boundaries better, and in fact the placement of the boundaries is a little different than is seen in the satellite imagery.
