Marine Reports or MAREPs are an important tool for forecasters to correctly initialize and verify marine forecasts.  MAREPs can include any or all of the following:  vessel ID, time and location of the report, wind direction and speed, wave height and period, current weather including visibility, sea/air temperature, barometric pressure, and any remarks of unusual weather conditions.  MAREPs should be called into the marine forecaster at (757) 899-2415.
