Recent Changes Made Regarding the Short Term Forecast
Effective May 1, 1998, our office will no longer issue regularly-scheduled Short Term Forecasts (STF's). Instead, STF's will be issued on an event-driven basis only. By "event-driven", we mean that STF's will only be issued and/or updated during periods of inclement weather. Examples include, but are certainly not limited to, thunderstorms, hurricanes, adverse marine weather conditions, strong winds, and temperature extremes. PLEASE keep this in mind when viewing the Short Term Forecast and remember that during periods of benign weather conditions, the forecast you are reading may be old.
