Satellite and Upper Air Data Overview

 
  • Analysis of 600-200Mb features in the eastern U.S. - Compare 500 Mb and 300 Mb features with Water Vapor Imagery
  • Strong upper-level impulse rotated around the upper low center
  • Upper jet streak strengthened on south and east quadrants of upper low
  • Upper-level divergence increased in south and east quadrants of upper low
  • Upper-level subsidence, signified by darkening in water vapor imagery, signaled a strengthening upper jet streak
  • Once you identify upper-level impulses and jet streaks, view the evolution of upper features in the Water Vapor Imagery Loop and Infrared Imagery Loop
