June 2nd, 1998 Tornadoes

The images show Base Reflectivity on the left side at 0.5 and 1.5 degree elevation. The right side shows Storm Relative Motion at 0.5 and 1.5 degree elevation.

The loop below requires java to be installed and turned on in your browser. There are 4 overlays, Cities, Roads, Elevation labels, and a general Storm Track. The Storm Track shows the path of the severe thunderstorm that produced the tornado, not the tornado track. With the Storm Track overlay turned on, please note the strong rotational velocity couplet that moves from the Meshoppen area and weakens just before it gets to Dalton.
