By 00z, the surface based frontogenesis axis was forecast to become rather shallow across central NY. Note that a second maxima of frontogenesis is located at mid-levels. The upward motion associated with the surface based frontal zone is forecast to become more shallow than earlier on the 25th. Meanwhile, the mid-level instability zone has disappeared from the cross section. These factors all indicated that the potential for heavy, banded snowfall would be decreasing by 00z on the 26th.
