Soggy August
August is Buffalo's wettest month on average, and in 1997, the trend continues. Lake Erie does not
prevent convection as readily as in May, June and July. In fact, lake enhanced rain is
a fairly common occurrence in Buffalo during August. Include a semi-permanent
storm track over the region, and you get over 4 inches of rainfall for the month!
