Bufkit Lake Effect Snow Training Package
The Bufkit Lake Effect Snow Training package is a "turn-key" version
of Bufkit with all configuration files predefined for this the 20 November
2000 Lake Effect snow event that dropped 24 inches of snow on Buffalo in
13 hours.
Setup. The installation procedures are almost identical to the
standard Bufkit installation process. The advantage is that this
package is already preconfigured to analyse this event.

Step 1. Download the Bufkit 3 Comet case study installation file
from here ftp://ftp.nws.noaa.gov/er/buf/bufkit/bufkit3comet.zip
Its about 2.7 MB and includes all the files you need to analyse this event.

Step 2. Unzip the file into a temporary directory.

Step 3. Run the program SETUP.EXE. Remember: don't install
the program into the same directory that contains the temporary unzipped
files. Note: This package will default to install the package
in C:\Bufkit3Comet.

Step 4. Delete the temporary files.
Running. This Bufkit package comes with preconfigured to display
eta, midpoint-eta, and ngm forecast profiles that preceeded the 20 November
2000 Lake Effect Snow event. You can run this Bufkit Lake Effect Snow Training
package either by

Double Clicking the Bufkit3.exe icon within the C:\Bufkit3Comet directory
(or the directory specifice in Setup step 3).

Use the Windows menu system by clicking on the Start button. Click
on the Start > Programs > Bufkit.
Ensure Windows can display at least 800x600 resolution. Any resolution
will work with the exception of the Windows default resolution of 640x480.
