Lake Ontario ice cover Feb 3rd, 2001

Lake Ontario is mainly cloud free in this image, though weak northwest flow has produced multiple narrow "fingers" of snow along the south shore.  The only significant ice that is apparent from the satellite image is over the northeast corner of the lake, east of the Prince Edward peninsula, where a medium gray color may be apparent, and over the Thousand islands region as well as parts of Henderson bay and Sacketts harbor, where the lighter gray probably indicates a thicker ice pack.
