| The heaviest snowfall from this band occurred just south of Buffalo as shown in this radar image. Morning and afternoon rush hours were particularly tough for south towns commuters. A section of rte. 5 along the Lake erie shore was closed for a time. |

| In the above image the Lake Ontario band is hammering Oswego county. A northward extension of the band has set up across western Lewis county. This may be due to orographic enhancement on the Tug Hill plateau. As shown in the snowfall map, there were two snowfall maxima associated with this band and they match up well with the snapshot radar image we see here. |
