This radar loop is in "Clear Air Mode" which is a much more sensitive scale for detecting
precipitation compared to "Precipitation Mode". We often use this mode to detect snow which,
in general returns a weaker signal than rain drops. The most intense part
of the band stayed well north of the traditional ski belt areas during this
event as you can see.
