Fluffy
lake effect snows are often sculptured into very interesting shapes. This
ribbon of snow adorns the railing of a deck like "icing on a cake" in the
town of Elma, NY, about 15 miles southeast of Buffalo. The picture
was taken Christmas night after a 10 inch snowfall. (photo by
