Surface Mean Sea Level Pressure (green isobars) and 850mb theta-e (dashed blue)  02 June-12z  through 03 June-06z.  The theta-e ridge represents the pooling of low level moisture as a necessary ingredient for convection. The surface trof acts as a source of low level convergence to concentrate convective development.
