This visible image was taken from the Geostationary Satellite located some 23,000 miles in space.  Although we use satellite to follow cloud patterns across our part of the country, we also see lots of other unique features.   In this image we can see a plume of some type in the lake just off Long Point, Ontario.  The plume may be a result of materials being carried along by lake currents.  There is a lot of research being conducted on this phenomena.  If you want more information on the topic you can click on our link to the Great Lakes Environmental Laboratories.
