(12/17/2000) 2000-2001 Snow Season. A comprehensive look at the current winter weather situation for Western and Central New York. A compilation of the Buffalo snowstorm from November 20th, 2000. Lots of neat photos, discussions and other interesting information. This is also known as Lake Effect Storm Chestnut. November (11/15/2000) New Revised Digital Forecast. The NWS is introducing a new forecast product in order to service our customers needs better. The new Revised Digital Forecast is now available on our public forecast page for each of our forecast counties. (11/15/2000) New State Forecast Tabular. The NWS is reformatting some of its products in order to service our customers needs better. The new State Forecast Tabular is now available. (11/14/2000) New Lake Effect Snow Season. Get this year's lake effect storm names. Check out the 2000-2001 season. (11/8/2000) NWS Buffalo Site Search. Don't know how to find something on our web site? Our Site Search is now available. October (10/6/2000) Winter Season Bufkit Release. Bufkit Release 8 is now available. This release ensures: Lake Induced Indices work properly beyond forecast hour 48 and Hourly Snow Accumulation is correctly calculated. September (9/30/2000) This Date in Western New York Weather History. Storm data files (1990-2000) have now been added as significant weather events to our Western New York Weather History page. August (8/21/2000) Penn State Bufkit Distribution System. The Bufkit Data Distribution System provided by Penn State is now available. This system provides real-time data for the National Weather Service's forecasting software Bufkit based on the Eta model for 592 locations throughout the continental United States. (8/20/2000) NOAA Weather Radio Frequencies for Other Parts of the Country. A link to nationwide NOAA radio transmitter sites. July (7/25/2000) Wyoming County Tornado Study - June 2, 1998.
