Since we implemented a new program for the public to provide us with significant weather reports, we have had several reports come in during recent severe weather events. In the last two events alone we received over 50 valuable reports! This is exciting to see and we hope that you will continue to provide us with these valuable reports. The reports really are useful in our decision making process as well as alerting other communities as to what may actually be occurring within a particular storm.

We would like to thank each of you who have participated in this program and encourage those who have not had a chance to call in a significant weather report to do so when you observe it.

When you observe hail, wind damage, a funnel cloud or tornado, flooding, or winter weather, you can provide your weather report by calling 1-800-775-7199 or 1-877-633-6772 using your touchtone phone. It is recommended to keep these numbers by a phone for future reference and spread the word to your friends and neighbors, we welcome anyone to participate in providing valuable information to your National Weather Service.

Remember, these phone numbers will not be used to obtain forecast information or for general questions. For that information, please call 803-822-8135.
