If you haven't looked at our web site lately, you are missing a great resource. In an effort to ease the way people can visit the National Weather Service, the individual offices are standardizing the "look and feel" of the various home pages for all the offices. Even though the content will remain customized for the area served by the local NWS office, the way the data is displayed and organized will be the same from office-to-office. We hope that this will make it much easier for everyone to quickly find the data that they need.

This portion of our home page will take you quickly to the various web pages of interest. First is the Current Hazards which will quickly show the watch or warning status for the state of Maine, or for the Nation. Current Conditions will display the observational page for stations in Maine, Satellite Images will link you to a page to access your choice of the various satellite images, while Lakes & Rivers will link you to the hydrologic information for Maine. There is also an informational link on this site that explains the hydrologic program from the Northeast River Forecast Center (NERFC) in Taunton .
Next in line is the Radar Imagery, and it gives you options to look at local radar, or pick areas from around the nation, or composite images of the country.
Forecasts will quickly take you to the local forecast, aviation for those interested in flying, marine for the mariner, or fire weather. Visit each link for an education on what different aspects of the weather are the primary interest of each group. Aviation will allow the pilot to fully brief on the day's weather with a full complement of charts. Marine provides

not only the coastal and offshore forecast, but this is where you can fine the tide tables, buoy reports, and link into the Marine Prediction Center in Washington DC. Fire Weather will give you great information on the drought or heavy rainfall (if it ever comes). The Drought Monitor link found here will display a daily map of drought conditions. Forestry officials, and anyone with agricultural, or gardening interests will find this page one of the most useful for long term planning.
Climate focuses on local, and also national climatic information with the National Climatic Data Center. Weather Safety will give you access to all the preparedness information and help your family for any storm. Weather Information ties in as well for storm preparedness and spotter information. Forecasting tools will give you access to weather models and allow you to make your own forecast.
