As part of the National Weather Services annual spotter training campaign, weather spotter training talks will be held at various locations in eastern and northern Maine.    The National Weather Service uses spotters throughout the year for reports of severe weather conditions.  Weather conditions such as severe thunderstorms, flooding, and significant snowfalls are examples of the types of severe weather that spotters are asked to report to the National Weather Service.  The 2-hour training talks focus on severe weather identification and reporting procedures as well as weather safety.

People interested in becoming new weather spotters as well as current weather spotters are welcome to attend.  If you know of anyone interested in becoming a weather spotter, please let them know about spotter training.

I have a saying, "the more rural you are the more I need you".  We currently have a need for spotters in central and northern Washington and Hancock Counties.  Maybe you or someone you know lives on or near routes 6 or 9?  If you live or know of someone who lives in these areas, please have them contact me by e-mail:
