Fall has advanced into Northern and Downeast Maine, with many locations already experiencing the peak in the changing leaf colors. Before discussing what to expect for winter, lets
review the weather experienced last summer.
Overall, the meteorological summer (June, July, and August) of 2001 was slightly warmer and
much drier than average, and significantly warmer than the summer of 2000. The following tables illustrate these differences.
