Precipitation amounts for May 1- July 17 are below normal both this year and in 1988. However, in most areas 1988 was significantly drier than this year.
Average maximum temperatures in May in eastern and north central Ohio were warmer this year than in 1988. Western and south central Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania had comparable temperatures to 1988.
Average maximum temperatures in June in western and south central Ohio were warmer in 1988 than this year. Northern and central OHio and northwest Pennsylvania had comparable temperatures to 1988.
Most of Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania had comparable average maximum temperatures in July (so far) to 1988. The exception is a small pocket of northwest Ohio which was warmer in 1988.
