Vessel Safety Check Program Cape Fear Power Squadron
Be prepared for any emergency when you are afloat. Have a free
courtesy vessel safety check to ensure that your vessel complies
with both Federal and State safety requirements. The Vessel Safety
Check program is one of many services provided by the Coast Guard
Auxiliary and United States Power Squadrons to promote boating
safety. This is a check of the safety equipment carried or
installed on a vessel and certain aspects of the vessel’s overall
condition.
If the vessel meets all requirements, the examiner will award a
Vessel Safety Check decal. The Vessel Safety Check is not a law
enforcement action. It is a public service provided in the
interest of boating safety. Call your nearest Power Squadron or
Coast Guard Auxiliary flotilla to arrange a vessel safety check.
