...BOATING SAFETY CLASSES...

THE FOLLOWING IS A SAFE BOATING MESSAGE FROM THE USCG AUXILIARY SOUTHPORT

As the summer season approaches I am reminded of the need to let all boaters know that both the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and the local Sail and Power Squadron Units offer Boating Safety Classes to the general public. These classes are usually advertised in the local newspaper with time, date and location of the classes. These classes cover the basics of trailering, launching your boat, docking and general safety while afloat. The class length varies from a simple all day session to a full 12 week 12 lesson course.

Boating safety is a major concern on the water not only for the new less experienced boater but also for the more experienced boater. Take a safe boating course, the life you save may be your own or that of a loved one.
