...TIPS FOR SAFE BOATING WEEK... THE FOLLOWING IS A
SAFE BOATING MESSAGE FROM THE SHALLOTTE RIVER SAIL AND POWER SQUADRON
As another boating season gets underway, boaters need to take heed of the weather
before heading out. Know your weather signs for any oncoming changes and be prepared
to return to port quickly. Keep tuned to NOAA weather radio for updated weather
reports and Marine Warnings.
Make sure you and your crew are wearing the appropriate life jackets before you are
in trouble.
Prior to your first outing have a Vessel Safety Check by a member of the Coast Guard
Auxiliary or U. S. Power Squadron and take a safe boating course from either
organization.
Know the "rules of the road" and stay safe.
