Additional notes
Pileus clouds form when a moist layer of air is pushed upwards,
causing condensation in a layer. This usually is caused by a
developing
cumulus or
cumulonimbus cloud. Eventually, the cumulus
will grow into and penetrate the pileus cloud. Pileus
clouds do not necessarily signify a strong thunderstorm.
