Weather information is as important to hydrologists as it is to meteorologist.
The OHRFC has a specialized unit of meteorologists (Hydrometeorological Analysis
and Support - HAS - see about the HAS function ) that
forecast daily rainfall (Quantitative Precipitation Forecasts - QPF) amounts
throughout the Ohio Valley. These 24 hour forecasts (in certain situations, 36
or even 48 hr forecasts) are used in forecasting the rise and fall of major
river systems in our basin.
